Oh, I'm a stereotypical curmudgeon that still bemoans the 2011 reboot so I would neverrrrr recommend catching up with current canon lol. Most of which I have a low opinion on and I ignore unless it serves me, if I'm honest. When I think about these characters I think of their pre-reboot versions. And even those I tweak, because isn't fandom about that? Especially on DC, which already has a collaborative, often contradictory canon. See: I preferred it when Kate wasn't Bruce's cousin (which was something the reboot added), by far, and I personally reject all the military propaganda that comes with the character, for example, thinking up different backstories with her.
Cass and Steph were already adults pre-reboot, though the older woman/younger woman dynamic is something that interests me and I have always enjoyed. Another aspect of these relationships for me is that I do ship Cass/Steph, but only in an scenario where they end up as exes, still connected to each other, doomed and bittersweet and incapable of fully getting over the other but fundamentally incompatible. So that influences how I imagine them in other relationships after the breakup.
For Steph and Selina is simpler, because I picture Steph not putting much stock on romance after that breakup, focusing on hero work (I have a whole AU in my head where she becomes a Green Lantern lol). But she falls for Selina, in part due to the kindness Selina showed her when she was young, and pines/doesn't pursue other options (because she doesn't care to), while Selina is very aware of this but doesn't want to go There, doesn't want to face Steph's feelings. Steph is perfectly fine having (mostly?) unrequited feelings for someone, because she doesn't see the point of trying to settle for less and she has bigger things to worry about.
Meanwhile I ship Cass with a lot of female characters LOL, and I enjoy thinking about the scenarios where she'd explore that after the breakup. With Kate in particular I picture her showing Cass Gotham's kink scene and the two of them having a lot of fun while on the hero side of things they might class due to different perspectives.
I have A TON more headcanons about these and other DC femslash ships, mainly born out of WIPs that aren't out yet (I do have one short Steph/Selina ficlet published here). Way too many to put on a single comment ^^U
