So much joy of suffering encapsulated in one post-- I love it. I especially enjoy all the tropes that deal with what comes after-- mourning, the aftermath of abuse, of mind control/manipulation, of being disabled by something, of realizing that time manipulation is not a fix-all button by design. Canon/divergence/what-if can be so good for that too.
