It is set in the larger DC universe but as I said, this list is all about trying to find comics that could be more approachable to outsiders, without any of the intimidating continuity mess that DC can be sometimes LOL. So I'd say go for it. I'm mostly a pre-reboot fan, so when I recommend a DC comic from after 2011 xD (of which there are more in this list because they tend to be more accessible) it's especial :P
