A family home is not unlike a battlefield. Alliances are forged and broken, battle lines drawn and moved, loyalties tested and betrayed. Petty squabbles become of the utmost importance within the bars of a daughter’s birdcage.
The outside looks in, but can never gain the full picture. Theories will be discussed, rumors will be spread. Winner, loser, and scapegoat, all roles aptly assigned according to untruths instead of facts, all complexities sanded down for the better and easier understanding of the simple-minded.
Harbinger, warbringer. But Merricat wasn’t the dreaded omen, and she didn’t bring the war.
She only finished it.
