A little Wishverse one-shot I wrote for 2025's Three Sentence Ficathon.

It’s against her nature as the Slayer to accept this, but she has the vampire to thank for the narrow escape from the Master and his acolytes; she’s known to be harsh, and she knows these last few years have hardened her irreparably, but she’s not cruel yet, so she nods in thanks, stoic, and declares she’s willing to let him walk away alive, before the sun comes up.
“I miss you already,” he says, in a tone that should’ve been sardonic and belligerent, instead of so damn sincere.
“Go, before I change my mind,” Buffy replies, rejecting any sentimentality.
