Kara’s clearest memories all focus on the decay; the poisonous atmosphere in Argo City, the earthquakes that cracked it apart… the slow, tortuous death of Krypton, mirrored by the slow, tortuous death of her mother.

Oftentimes, she marinates on them with masochistic wistfulness; others, she puts conscious effort into sidestepping such recollections, traveling further back in her consciousness to a shinier time: intact buildings; wondrous technologies; a mother with filled, rosy cheeks.

Earth, in its obvious path to self-destruction, becomes unbearable to her –Diana told her the story of Cassandra; Kara fears she’s doomed to turn into the cursed prophetess.
